Any Programs that involve interactions with minors (individuals under the age of 18) on Washington University property must be registered with Washington University’s Youth Protection Program. Additionally, background checks and training are required for all program staff who work, paid or unpaid, in a program.
Below are resources to assist faculty and staff of Washington University in St. Louis to comply with the Youth Protection Policy. More information about the Youth Protection Policy is available on the Youth Protection Program website.
- Program administrators must register their program at least 30 days in advance of the program start date using the form on the Youth Protection Program website. Included with your registration should be a full list of program staff as well as the building your program will be residing.
- Once registration is submitted, the program administrator will be emailed with further instructions regarding background checks and online training.
- Background checks and training must be completed 2 weeks prior to the program start date. Additional information regarding compliance is available on the Youth Protection Program website.
